Retirees – Unsustainable

Bloomfield Township residents are paying million dollar outlays
per retiree for pension and health care benefits.
This is unsustainable. Our township leaders seem to think otherwise. 

EMPLOYEE EXAMPLE ONE
Employee with 25 years of service retires at 50 years of age. A pension of $50,000 for 30 years = $1,500,000!
PLUS healthcare provided by township taxpayers!

EMPLOYEE EXAMPLE TWO
Employee with 30 years of service retires at 55 years of age. A pension of $75,000 for 25 years = $1,875,000!
PLUS healthcare provided by township taxpayers!

The union contract is planned to be negotiated on March 31, 2020 and will be in place for 4 or more years. Employee and retiree benefits MUST require a greater contribution from those that benefit, not just the residents!
